ICQ: How do I filter/stop/get rid of all the incoming SPAM!

I just setup a new ICQ account (had one a while back but forget the details for it) and I'm getting lots of SPAM-O-LA! I choose not to be put in the directory, etc but I've gotten two already within 5 minutes of signing up!

Is there no way to filter out this junk? If not, ICQ goes flush. Yahoo Messenger is much nicer imho...

Simple, don't use ICQ

There should be an option somewhere to only receive messages from people on your contact list. I think it may be under Security and Privacy.

Well it does have some benefits. I went into the options and checked "do not accept mass sendings from users not on your contact list"... No spam yet, have to see how it goes. Is the ICQ infrastructure insecure? How are these people getting my ICQ number within minutes of signup?

Yeah but I don't have anyone on my contact list yet so... hehe . I just enabled it for the Forsale forum here - I use Yahoo IM for my friends.
