I was using ICQ when suddenly the ICQ Core crashed (according to Windows XP). When I restarted my computer and tried to start ICQ it seems that it wasn't working anymore. So I uninstalled ICQ, renamed the old ICQ directory and reinstalled ICQ 2001b (I also tried 2002a but that doesn't seem to fix the problem either).
Reinstalling seemed to help, but I lost my history. So I copied the old data files over the new ones and runned ICQ DBConvert (just to be sure). ICQ DBconvert seems to work fine, no errors. But when I started ICQ again I could not connect to ICQ, reason given: "Can't establish connection. Check your Internet connection and reconnect ICQ.". This is really weird because I can connect when I use the new datafiles. Even more weird is that when I choose "auto configure" in the preferecenes it finds a working server, but when I try to connect I get the same error.
Do you know what the problem is? I really don't want to lose my history.
