We both have ICQ 2001B but im on Windows 2000 and hes on Windows XP. He disabled the WinXP's built in firewall. I have the Linksys 4 port router and he has the SMC 4 Port router with print server.
I can send and recieve files from other people fine. He can too but just can't send or recieve from me. I cant send receive from him too cuz we both behind router and these router has firewalls maybe thast the probelm.
In our icq settings, we both the same....in General tab..we have conenction type on Permanent ( Lan, Cable Modem, etc) and Firewall lP Settings are ICQ will determine IP automatically
In server port icq server host is login.icq.com port 5190 and proxy settings is using firewall and not using proxy and keep connection alive checked in the firewall tab everything is left default and in user tab is User Server proxy settings ( recommended ) checked.
We both got same settings and i've tried diff combinations like proxy and no proxy and tried dynamic allocated ports and specific ports too like ports 2000 - 4000 and stuff. But still dont work.
We dont have any port forwarding set in the router port configuration settings for icq ports. But its weird how come i can send to other ppl but not him? And he can do the same?
Please help..we dont have any other fireall programs installed.
