Icons on desktop keep flickering

I'm on a 2005FPw at 1680x1050 with an x800XT

This just started about 30 minutes ago

It's just the icons flickering, not the desktop wallpaper or windows
 
the whole icon or just lines going through the icon? horizontal lines to be more precise...

at work we have a cheap lcd paired with a cheap computer so i duno if its cheap vid card or the cheap lcd thats doing it

try changing the resolution and refresh rate

also drivers of course

are you using the inf that came with the cd?

try reinstalling the video drivers completely with driver cleaner

after all that or before all that, u can take the lcd to another computer to test it...thats probably the most painless way of finding if its the card or the monitor actually...
