Icons mix up after every 2 or 3 start-ups

I am running Windows 2000 and I'm having a problem with my icons mixing up of refreshing every tow or three start-ups. I have dual monitors so this quite a problem. All my icons on the desktop refresh to the far left. Thanks.

Do you have a "Auto arrange" option turned on? (right-click on desktop) If the option is turned off and you're still having problems, you would have to use a third-party software to lock the icons on the desktop. I can't remember the name of the software but look for it on google.
