Icons have disappear off my XP Desktop

Just after I turned off the screen saver on my XP computer all the icons on the desk top just despaired along with the task bar. I can?t right click or any thing but Ctrl, Alt, Del to restart the computer. It boots up fine and you see all the icons but they all disappear again as soon as the hourglass goes away on the mouse pointer.
I?m running Windows XP PRO with Service Pack 2

What the hell is going on? Help me out please!!

 
Maybe the screen saver is crashing Explorer. Try a different screen saver and see if it happens again. If not, just don't use that other screen saver.
