Icon view sticking to specific folders after joining domain

Everything works as intended before I join the pc to the domain. I have 2 folders on the desktop that I want to open in Icon view. The rest of the machine should be in list view for default folder view. this works fine. New user logs into the machine, everything is fine.

Later , I join the pc to the domain and the default folder view becomes detailed and maximized. The specific folders lose their attributes and default to icon view.


Any ideas?

Is the domain pushing this down? or is windows forgetting some settings when joining the domain?
