icon problems

ok some reason it didnt go through, my icons change to data file icons and then change back, what could cause this?

when does it do that? during startup? or does it do it randomly while working??

data file meaning the icon you see when something doesnt have an extension?

if its during startup its normal i think (it happens to me sometimes, with older, slower computer)

if its random....umm...i dont know maybe that is normal as well? (maybe hd is just "refreshing" all icons and computer might be a bit slow so you see the data file icon instead of it being instantanous?)

From what I gathered on a quick search on Google.......

Issues like this often result from corruption of the Windows ShellIconCache.
It is a "hidden" file in the Windows directory,
You can find it if you have "show all files" ticked in Folder Options > View.
Got to start
Click on Find Files or Folders
Type in
Shelliconcache
Delete it.
Reboot, it will recreate the file on boot up"
Maybe that will help.
