This weekend i was on my computer, and everything is fine. I had to leave town for a couple of days, but was downloading a few large files so i left the computer on and the files downloading. At that point everything was running perfectly.
However, this afternoon when i come back, all the folders on my desktop and half the icons are missing their pcitures. They all have the unknown file icon--every folder in my hard drive has this icon. All the shortcuts in my start menu were like that as well--even the email/internet icons at the top of the menu.
When i right-click a folder, go to customization and then icons, it says it is the default folder icon--i click reset defaults, nothing happens, i change it to the .rtf icon, and it works, i change it to an open folder icon, it doesnt work, i change itback the the regular closed folder default icon, and it doesnt work.
Does anyone know what is going on here, or have any advice on where i could fix my folders/icons?
Thanks.
