iCloud question

My wife just reserved an iPhone 6s and I'm a bit worried about the meager storage - 16gb. She doesn't do much on her phone but constantly takes pictures of our toddlers. Is there a way to backup to iCloud then automatically delete pictures locally after X days/weeks/etc? I'm using android so I can't give it a try, and I'm wondering if we should cancel the pre order

You might want to check out OneDrive instead. 15GB free instead of just 5GB for iCloud. Plus it would have the advantage of working on your Android phone as well as iOS.

You can enable iCloud library on the iPhone settings to automatically backup all the pictures against iCloud and/or you can enable photo stream and have your photos synced with iTunes in your PC/Mac. Pictures have to be deleted mannually either way I'm afraid.

Another option is to install Google Photos/Drive to have unlimited cloud storage (resolution lower than 16 mpx if I'm not wrong).

Yah, I'd leave icloud for your app and setting backup and use one of the many other cloud drive services for photos.
