Anyone seen this movie?

Just watched it last night. Japanese film dubbed with Australian accents. I watched it for the gore........Never have I seen a guys face get cut off and tossed against a wall, only to slide down the wall.

Interesting indeed.

I just watched it tonight (The unrated version, subtitles of course, I farkin hate dubbed movies).
It was very interesting.
I must say I really really liked it.
It was far more gory and brutal than most "gore flicks", and it was not just some stupid cheesy over the top b movie, it was actually a great movie overall.

I didn't like it, but I only watched part of it. It's just not my kind of movie. I don't get the whole Japanese film/cartoons/music thing.

You should watch more of Takashi Miike's films

Full Metal Yakuza, Dead or Alive 1 and 2, etc

Not quite the same level of gore but more action oriented

I love Miike. His movies are full-on weird-gore-fests. Most of the dialog is improvised on the spot to take advantage of certain 'stream of consciousness' spurts. He constantly breaks the 'fourth wall' of cinema down. He's definitely innovative and bold in his film making, though certainly not for everyone. And certainly not to be watched dubbed!

And if you think Ichi is weird, wait 'till you watch Gozu. WTF, but in an awesome way. It's a movie you have to watch more than once.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check out Gozu when I can.

Got my copy of Audition from Amazon a couple of days ago (Uncut of course), watched it last night, I don't like it nearly as much as Ichi, but it was still a damn good movie. It doesn't score so high in the humor department, but it definably impresses in the horror side of things. It had me really wanting to look away from the TV for a couple of scenes, but of course I was glued to the story and thus my eyes fixated to the screen.

I gave Ichi a 10/10.
I give Audition an 8/10.

Also, subtitles are your friend, dubbed movies are crap.
