ICH9R RAID 5 Portability Question

I guess it may not be too much a concern to most people here, nor do I know know if it's the right place to ask my question:

I'm currently using Abit IP35, the RAID version, configured as a SATA RAID 5, thinking about the future RAID portability or even changing motherboard in the current generation. Specifically: Can I move the current RAID disks to IP35 Pro, or even another brand motherboard like Gigabyte or ASUS with the same RAID ICH9R controller? AS I can see, the X38 board are all using ICH9R, in future, can I port my RAID disks to a X38 board without the need to reinstall the OS?
