As you all know, the ICH8 doesn't support NCQ. On the other hand, it has dedicated bandwidth. I have two IDE devices. Before I was tinkering with the stuff, my computer still saw the two IDE drives. However, I installed the GBB36X controller, and now everytimg i uninstall it, windows xp installs it again. If i have my two SATA hard drives and two optical drives on it, it works. However, if I try to have my IDE on the Jmicron, and my SATA on intel's ich8, only one IDE drive gets detected ... how do I uninstall it? Or is it better to have my NCQ drives on Jmicron then ICH8, even if the max bandwidth to the Jmicron seems to be PCI Express x1
