ICH8 (Regular ICH8) vs JMicron Controller

Several people have kept saying that the ICH8 controller is better. But, there's actually no benchmarks or proof. It doesn't seem to have ACHI either ... So what are the tips and tricks to the ICH8 for the DS3 or should I just stick my hard drive on to the JMicron?
