IceWeasel Development Versions - Debian

This may be old news, but it's new to me. If you run Debian, and want a version of IceWeasel that isn't ancient, you can add the repository from here...

http://mozilla.debian.net/

Follow the easy wizard to pick your Debian version, and which IceWeasel you want(or IceDove/IceApe), and it'll give you the apt line to enter in your sources list. I was enabling the experimental repo to get the newest IceWeasel when released, but that was kind of a PITA. Using this I can track the Aurora channel, and am now running 17.0a2, very easy.

FWIW, it appears ForecastFox broke in this release. I'll sit on it awhile, and if it doesn't fix itself, I'll poke around and see if I can get it going again. All my other addons appear to work ok.

Plugin conflicts/incompats are usually the biggest problem with bleeding edge/enhanced security forks IME.

I used to run nightly builds all the time, and I had very little trouble. I'd occasionally get a bad build, but it was generally straightened out in a day or two. I never had critical functionality break.

I just looked into ForecastFox, and it appears it's a known issue. If you open a new window, it works correctly on that new window. I guess I just have to wait.

Edit:
In case anyone's interested...

Hi all,

I've updated Firefox[sic] to support the latest versions of Firefox. You can try it here:

https://static.getforecastfox.com/downloads/forecastfox-latest.xpi

The problem was a small race condition with how Forecastfox starts up. I'm not sure what in Firefox changed but we worked around it. Let me know how it works for you and I'll post it to AMO.

Thanks
