did anybody catch this last night? I felt really bad for the old trucker who took out that car door then had that idiot smash into him before he even got out of New Delhi. i can completely understand why he packed his shit and went home on the first day.

the canuck with the blue hair, lol he had me rolling.

I wouldn't have gone in the first place. I have been driving all over the place and while US is nuts, it is controlled. Very controlled compared to most Arab and SEA areas.

Is this from Delhi to Ladakh? I've been on that road, it can be pretty hairy.

alex isn't the right personality for that , while rick is the perfect nutjob to drive on those cliffs and through those streets
i am not sure lisa will make it too much longer

having them drive on the wrong side in addition to the 2000 ft dropoffs is crazy
you could tell alex's spotter didn't like him, where rick and his guy are chumming it up

That was Alex, he quit the Himalaya roads before he even got to the really scary ones. I like the idea of a spotter and from that first episode, it seems like they are an absolute necessity. Lisa needs to work on proper gear engagement techniques. And she was also some terrified on those roads. I would be as well with those type of car and bus drivers.

I don't think so either. It looks like she freezes up in the next episode. I never really got into these IRT shows, but this one is pretty crazy.

They should pack bigger trucks and just mow over the terrible Indian drivers. Show them the power of the right of way.

Lisa had difficulty with one shift with a weird transmission on the wrong side...

She doesn't need to work on anything.

Poor Alex. However, he should have never taken the job there in the first place. Didn't he have some kind of a black out a couple seasons ago? Sadly, he's the type of guy who will be driving until he gets a heart attack and dies.

Lisa also had trouble with certain gears on the Super 10 up in Alaska.
Yes, she does need a little practice, especially with down shifting.

If you guys missed eps, they have them online: http://www.history.com/shows/irt-de...episodes#irt-deadliest-roads-freefall-freeway

Being an Indian that has been born and raised in metro-Detroit and having been to India multiple times, being driven anywhere still scares the living shit out of me when I initially get there. You get somewhat accustomed to the controlled chaos after about a week, but I NEVER got used to my driver attempting to pass another car going UP HILL, nearing the crest on a 2 lane road.

Definitely an experience.

Been there, nearly shat my pants a few times ... most of the time I was pushing back into the seat half expecting a crash (I wasn't driving). All that in an Indian Army jeep (Gypsy).

Those people are f'ing nuts. I saw one last night and they were waiting on the train. Seriously, is that country so backwater that they can't put in automated train gates? Then the mayham when the gate lifts and everyone just goes for it.

Rick is hilarious and dead on about that place. To many people.

I love this show!

It reminds me when I traveled from North to South in India for 4 weeks.

Been watching the show.

I hope that Lisa continues to stick it out. I wonder how much they are paying those truck drivers to go over to India and drive? I don't blame Alex for bailing. I have a feeling that if that was Hugh he would have punched somebody.

It is crazy the driving over there and the difficulty of getting goods moved around. It was kind of funny the new driver asking about a forklift to move the stuff into the truck.

Great show. The North American drivers are getting a bit of culture shock however. The trucks and the other methods used in India might seem a bit outdated to them but they are proving good.

I can't believe Lisa drove all the way down that mountain with a cut tire and busted leaf spring (not that there was much of an option I suppose).

Impressive road crews, women with tiny old hammers busting big rocks into little rocks. Doh!

I find Ice Road Truckers garbage, mostly because they create drama for the show.

However, I do like this one. Probably because there is enough stuff going on without them having to create drama. I also really like seeing how roads and bridges are in other countries.

I especially like looking at the bridges and roads, but I guess that's the civil engineering nerd in me.
