That blue ice is some deadly sh!t, no pun intended.
On the same lines, but a different incident: One of my flying friends had a neat little one-of-a-kind homebuilt airplane he got from the builder/designer. it was a fabric covered cub replica, only smaller. One day, he got a call from the sherriff's department, inquiring if he went flying a certain day and time.
It turns out, the builder had added a substantial weight to the rear frame area to balance out the aircraft. it had loosened from the attachment and departed out through the fabric near the tailwheel. this was shortly after takeoff, and the lead weight punched a heck of a hole in a parked motor home:p
