 Didn't the dinosaurs die out and then the Mammoths, sabretooth tigers and sloths come around? Why would it be "Dawn"?

it's a cartoon comedy, not a research paper.

yep.
Quite a few people have brought that up on various forums.
The reply from the studio was, its not a mistake, just have to watch the movie to find out why the title fits.

I suspect the squirrel will play a pivotal role in establishing this plot line.

It wouldn't have been good for the audience's collective ego if it was Ice Age: Dawn of the Humans, and it showed humans killing, skinning, or otherwise threatening the animal stars of the movie. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Sid getting turned into a nice pelt of some sort.

New Teaser Trailer

Gotta hand it to Blue Sky Studios. They've really improved the quality of their animation since the first Ice Age. This is looking very good.

I think these posts are on to something...
:D

I wonder if they are going to continue from the last story line, where the ice was melting.
I love the Ice Age movies. Fox's Ice Age series is the best competitor to Pixar movies. I find myself laughing an awful lot during the Ice Age movies. The squirrel makes me  like crazy... then again, I'll be walking around campus and sometimes squirrels make me laugh to myself. I'm easily amused by the obnoxious antics of characters... that's why I love the Ice Age movies because it's basically slapstick meets Pixar. :)
