So I've had this board since about july..

I had one that died after 4 days. One day, it just wouldn't post.

I don't think my bios died.

I switched out my cpu. Pushed the power button and all the fans spun but no post.

Tried to clear cmos... but no post... fans still spinning...

tried clearing again... no post.. no fans... nothing...

anyone have any ideas?

Your an experienced builder so I doubt anyone will suggest anything you haven't tried but I'll state the basics in case like many of us, you somtimes miss the forrest for all the trees in your way :)

Pull it out of the case and try booting barebones to eliminate shorting. Start it with a screwdriver, butterknife whatever to eliminate a faulty power switch on the case. Test the PSU and CPU to take 'em outta the mix. Try removing the battery and leaving the board with no power source for 10-15min then pop in the battery, plug it in and see if it'll boot. Most troubleshooting beyond starts becoming mainboard specific and I know nothing of that board so can't help there. Good luck and I hope it gets worked out for you Shim :) BTW, it'll just give you an excuse to buy a new board to play with using your mach 1or2 :light:

yay! :)

good to hear that an abit product is still working!!!

actually...

i got desparate... and did some not so smart stuff...

i removed everything except my mobo and the atx connector... left the psu on... and pulled the atx connector in and out... saw a few sparks...

i thought for giggles i'd hit the power button to see if it'd power up...

and it did!

so everything is up and running again... i think i just shorted something before with one of my pci cards...

so now i'm testing out my new 3.0C :)

LOL, nothing like a little electro-therapy application to the motherboard to revive it.

I hope it was just a loose ATX power socket. :)
