Ic7 - WHERE IS MY USB2 ???
Using IC7 with XP SP 1 installed, bios 17

Problem cannot get USB2 drivers to load.

on BOOTUP

Bios reports IRQ

24D2 USB 1.0/1.1 UHCI CONTRLR 5
24D4 USB 1.0/1.1 UHCI CONTRLR 11
24D7 USB 1.0/1.1 UHCI CONTRLR 11
24DE USB 1.0/1.1 UHCI CONTRLR 5

In Windows XP SP1

device manager lists

Intel(R) 8280 1EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2
Intel(R) 8280 1EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D4
Intel(R) 8280 1EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D7
Intel(R) 8280 1EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24DE


So far have:

1) loaded intel chipset driver inf50.INF from abit site
rebooted

2) loaded Microsoft Recommended Update for Windows XP SP1 (KB822603) - "Availability of the Windows XP SP1 USB 1.1 and 2.0 Update"
rebooted

USB 2 not recognised in Win XP SP1

Solution: ??

After installing Windows XP service pack 1, reinstall the USB drivers from the CD that came with the motherboard.

It doesn't appear as if you've enabled the USB 2.0 controller in the BIOS. After that, all you need is SP1 and the INF. Don't install any other drivers.
