IC7 MAX3 VDIMM over 2.8?

I've heard that the IC7 MAX VDIMM setting is broken over 2.8v? Even though it can go up to 3.2v, it won't work past 2.8v? Anyone having this problem? Anyone successfully running it at v3.0 or higher?
