IC7-Max3 PATA+SATA problem

anyone know how to fix this problem?
when i try to use SATA drive and second IDE hard drive on PATA1, DVD burner on PATA2, i get pass boot screen but get a black screen where windows xp logo is suppose to appear and gets stuck there.
i only fix it by enable IDE Bus Master in bios (i think). is there another way to fix this problem with running SATA and PATA together.
 
Have you read the manual all the way through? I was trying to help someone with a similar board (Abit IS7) and the manual had some interesting stuff that you'll want to check out.
