IC7-MAX3 or P4C800-E Deluxe?

Which is better in terms of reliability and overclockability. I heard Asus is more compatitible with more memory modules. Abit has some memory issues, that are not resolved yet.

I'm pretty happy with my Asus P4C800-E with a 2.4C at 3.3, 275fsb, 1:1 memory ratio, 2.5-4-4-7 timings with 2.85 vdimm. It's fast and solid as a rock. 😉

that is pretty fast, what kind of memory are you using?

So really what are your reservations about using a IC-7 max overclocking ? stability or ram compatability ? I am putting a system together this weekend with a P2.4C , 1g corsair I almost bought the asus board up to now that was all I ever bought . I got sucked into the hype I guess

OCZ PC4000 Gold Editions. 🙂

In my Asus. But I used to have it in my Abit IC-7, and it ran stable no issues either. What do you mean by unstable?

You may want to upgrade to the latest Creative drivers for your sound card.

that is what i mean, i cannot install the new drivers. it will crash before i finish installing. also, the soundcard programs like speaker calibration and such crash when i use them. they installed alright, but i cannot use them without bring down the system

bummer man

it may be time for me to give up on intel or try the asus mb

And you are overclocking right? Maybe try and install them while on default settings. If that works, then obviously your overclock is NOT stable. Good luck.
