Can I put my primary ATA drive on the serial adapter? Will I lose or gain performance? It's a WD 80 gig SE 8 MB cache.
 
you can put it on a serial adapter, but it wont be guaranteed to work unless you use abit serlillel2 adapters. supposedly the first version of the adapter has problems with the new chipsets (875, etc). as far as performance goes, i think it may hurt latencies in some benchmarks, but you would be hard pressed to notice the difference in real world computing.
