ok ive read on other forums that the ic7 reads about 5-10 degrees celsius higher than the actual cpu temp in the bios. i went into bios and my cpu starts at 45c and went up to 47 in two minutes then i shut it off, fearing damage...am i paranoid? is 45c-50c normal? or is it high? and if its high....is my cpu really at 35c and the ic7 is just reading it as 45c?

I've heard that the IC7 generally reports high. You shouldn't really worry about temperature until you get to the low 60s; you might consider better cooling if that becomes your idle temperature. 47 isn't anything to worry about. So to answer your question: yep, yer slightly paranoid :p

45*C is nothing on an IC7.
i max out at 52*C with a stock 533 chip and hefty cooling!
OCed it hits 65*C max.

dont worry about it ;)

response to the original question-

No, it's just that everything else reads 5-10c lower than actual.
