Uh... Where are you getting this from? If it's one of the newer white/grey ones then I would personally take it for 50 (assuming it works). If you don't need it though, I guess there is no point.

get it if it works. for $50 you can try out the "other" platform and see what it's all about. Plus if it really is a notebook then even cheap ones are nice for a portable word processor.

And, you can play Marathon on it if you haven't before.

For $50 the machine might be too old to run the game. Especially since the OP doesn't even know WTF he's talking about.

I am curious, where are you finding an ibook for $50? And can, say, I get one for that price as well? :)

You're thinking about buying something whose name you don't even know. YOU SHOULD LEARN THEM. Did you see an iMac notebook on apple.com?

I wouldn't get it. It would ruin your mac experience being so old and probably only runs OS 8.6 or something disgusting like that (anything that's not OS X isn't worth it IMHO). It may be able to run OS X, but it'll be really slow (assuming this is a clamshell iBook).

I believe all iBooks are able to run OS X (at least through X.3).
