IBM X20 LCD Probs

I've recently purchased a X20 off of Ebay. Great little machine except I noticed the screen would flicker occasionally, usually when sitting on my lap and it was moving a little.

Then I noticed the screen flicker more noticeably on the right side, and finally the screen is so dark I can only make out a few images. Any suggestions to try or reccomendations on what might be wrong (LCD, cable to LCD, etc)?
