Any chance IBM will ever consider producing a wide-screen laptop? I was in my school's computer store yesterday, stacked up the T41 against the Powerbook. T41 is about the same height, and a little longer in the back. I know IBM focuses on business/enterprise customers, but I've heard of people wanting more screen space when working with spreadsheets and such. Any chance of a T41 w/ widescreen?

I lean more towards graphics and have resisted switching to Apple for a variety of reasons =T.

I really doubt it. Anyway, lots of Thinkpads come with SXGA+ screens which have a higher resolution than Widescreen laptops.

The higshest resolution possible on a widescreen is 1920 x 1200 ... so i doubt ibm SVGA+ are more than that...

Higher resolution or not (things sometimes get unbearably small) I'd love to just have the real estate to work with. I guess one can only dream. Most of the large notebook makers have widescreens now right? Compaq/HP, Dell, Toshiba...

I got a WSVGA+, 1680X1050. The extra space is indeed useful... The text is very readable....
