I have been on a search for a laptop with these specs and this pricing I thought was fantastic,
but am questioning why - and what am I missing I called three of the resellers and they were no help in answwering the main question:
Can I order this item since When you click and link to the resellers link it comes up with
"Special Bid Part Number for FDA"
Manufacturer: IBM
Mfg Part#: 2373Y38
I have never dealt with any of these resellers and the buy.com link
does not clarify OS as Win XP or any?
Can anyone tell me what the think of this laptop deal or not deal??

It doesn't list OS, but in all likelihood it ships with Win XP Pro, which is standard on the Thinkpads. I'd be all over it if only it had SXGA+, but if XGA is fine with you, it's a great deal.

What is the difference or advantages of SXGA+ over XGA?
I am using this laptop mostly for buisness
photoshop, Cad Program, and MS Office,
Not much of a gamer.
Any input is very welcomed, need all the advice I can get.

Well, it's the difference in resolution between XGA 1024x768 and SXGA+ 1400x1050.

XGA has 786,432 pixels.

SXGA+ has 1,470,000 pixels.

It's not useful primarily in games (in my opinion) but in office applications, where you can see much more of a document, spread sheet, web page, etc., and have multiple windows open side by side.

The downside is that it makes text and fonts look smaller, but that's the price you pay for the higher resolution. They do make a 15" SXGA+ which has the same resolution but over a bigger area, so the text and fonts will appear a bit larger.

14" XGA = 90 pixels per inch
14" SXGA+ = 125
15" SXGA+ = 116
15" UXGA = 133 (1600x1200)

If you're unsure what the resolution numbers mean, try adjusting the resolution on a desktop monitor to the different sizes. SXGA+ usually isn't a choice, so you'd have to pick SXGA 1280x1024 to get something close.
