IBM Thinkpad T30

Hi, a colleague at work was clearing out his office today and came up with an old Thinkpad T30 2366. Its cluttered up with all his old stuff and I want to do a fresh install of Win XP Pro on it, it has the key for it on a sticker underneath it. Unfortuantely I have no CDs with either WinXP Pro or Drivers for it with the ThinkPad. So what can I do? Will any WinXPPro CD Work as long I use the valid key from underneath the thinkpad? And even if that works, how do I get drivers for everything? Or should windows auto detect?

Thanks for any help,

Stern

"And even if that works, how do I get drivers for everything"

um, download them from the Lenovo site would probably be the answer

On the Lenovo site, you can select the exact Thinkpad you have and it will tell you almost exactly what drivers you need. It might be useful to download them on another computer first before reformatting, that way if you come up with an abnormality, you can try and figure it out before you are stuck with no clue what an "Unknown Device" is...

Thanks for the advice. I still don't know where to get a replacement windows install cd that will work with my key. Should I contact Lenovo? This laptop was bought in June '03....
