IBM Thinkpad T23 & T30

They are not compatible. The T SEries batteries seem to change from series to series. The 40 series are different than the 30 series even.
 
UPDATE:

I found a forum strictly dedicated for the thinkpads and the T30 batteries are backward compatible for the T2x series.
