IBM thinkpad laptop latch broken- how to fix?

AAARGH!

one of the the laptop latches for my thinkpad finally broke off, after being very wobbly ever since I took delivery of the laptop. it is less than one year old.

how to repair this? there are no screws for simply replacing the latch...

Try contacting IBM technical support and see if this might be something that's covered under warranty? Or if it isn't, search around on IBM's site; they typically have the service/repair manuals available for their laptops on their website. This should give you the FRU # you need in order to replace the latch, as well as the instructions for getting it open to replace it.
