I just hope I can swap the motherboard on mine without
any problems. From the hardware replacement manual it
looks like I have to dismantle the whole thing.

well swapped the mobo's. not nearly as hard as I though. the ibm hardware maint.
manual makes it a real breeze.

NOW....

I have this mobo that has a password on it. Should I just fleabay it? Or could someone
help me recover the password?

Concerning putting a wireless mini-pci card, it has to be small enough to fit into the opening first. I had three cards, a Cisco IBM card actually for the T40, a Ruby Agiere(spelling), and the Intel centrino card. The Centrino card was small enough to fit. The antenna was taken from a Toshiba notebook that didn't have a mini-pci card but just a open slot for further expansion. So I removed that, and put it into the 600X. I installed the drivers and it works. Currently I am using Win98SE on the system so drivers aren't a problem.

Is it a bios password or a system password?
1 Removing the bios battery can work.
2 reflash the bios.
3. Short Circuit all the logic gates and caps.
