IBM T43

I've had my T43 for about 2 months now, I got it as a graduation gift after highschool. I moved to Florida for school, and it has been sitting in a case for a few weeks ( I didn't have a wireless router yet to do anything.) I just took it out to see if the new router works, and when I press the power on button I get absolutely nothing. I plugged it into the wall, and I get the power on light and the battery light, but nothing appears on the screen.... what's wrong with it?

I would just call it in. It's probably best to have IBM service it professionally, rather than try to figure out what is wrong specifically and end up having to send it in anyway. 1-800-426-7378 (800-IBM-SERV).

Thanks Bodine, especially for the number 😛
I tried again later last night and it started beeping... 4+ times
I was looking in the Troubleshooting guide that came with it and it said charge the battery (Which I already did) and plug the adapter into the wall (Which it was when it beeped) The next option they give is "Get the computer serviced." I guess it's the only thing left I can do

I'm not going to mess with it... brought it in for service. I'll let you know the outcome when they get back to me.

Beeps on desktop usually indicate that the RAM or VGA card is not inserted properly, never heard a laptop beep 😛 could be the RAM....?

You're right 🙂

It was just a stick of 512 ram inserted improperly... must of got jiggled around I guess, no idea. Just had to take it out and put it back in, everything works fine now. 😀
