Ahhh, we have the same notebook. Only diff between mine and yours is the amount of ram. I am pretty content with my T40 as well. I just want a faster spinning hard drive.

Can you tell me the location of the thinkpad forums? I will be purchasing a T series withing the next month and want to do as much research as I can.

Funny, I thought that they were going to offer the T42 in different colors!

Rats, and I really wanted a Blue one, too :(

I gonna get me the T42 for sure but I'm not sure with which display to go, 14.1" and 1400x1050 or 15" and 1600x1200. Hhhhmmmm, decisions, decisions.

I have the 14.1" 1400x1050 display on my T30, and I HATE it. The screen resolution is too damn high for a screen this small, and small fixed size fonts (like what this forum uses) are practically unreadable at a comfortable viewing distance.

I have 1400x1050 on a T41 14.1" and for me its perfect.

Man, you would HATE 1600x1200 then, i had it on my old Dell 8100 and IT was tiny.... I loved it, but definately not for everyone...Check out the size of icons on 1600x1200 on a 15"
