IBM T42: Swapping Intel PRO 2200BG to IBM 802.11a/b/g

I plan to purchase the IBM 802.11a/b/g Mini PCI directly from IBM. Is the swap as simple as opening the case , replacing the existing 2200BG and finally updating the drivers? Are there any concerns with regards to compatibility? T42 2378-FZU w/ 735 1.70 GHz.

It should be. Make sure you have the software for the IBM card on the laptop or you may find yourself plugging the Intel back in for internet access.
