IBM T40 s-video to RCA output question

I'm going to be in Atlanta for Training for about a week and would like to use my lappy to play some DVD's for me in my hotel room on some days.
My room is equipped with a TV but am not sure if it would have a s-video input or RCA inputs.

I've had trouble outputting video and sound from my T40 s-video output to my TV using s-video inputs.

can anyone tell me how to do this?

a simple s-video to s-video connection from my T40 to TV results in video output but not sound output?
obviously, I want the sound to come out through my TV so that I can control it and not through the T40.

should I buy a s-video to RCA cable and try going that route?
I just assumed that using s-video to s-video connection would result in good quality video AND sound.

Gracias

so, if I go from s-video on the T40 to the 3 RCA cables (including audio+video) to the TV, I should be all set?

but if I do s-video to s-video from lappy to tv, how do I get the audio across?

Can't go S-Video to 3 RCA you would need S-Video, and to split your headphone output into 2 RCA

any idea where i can get a cable that has one end going into a headfone and the other outputs to two rca cables

hate to say it but i have yet to see a TV in a hotel room that had anything but a coax input (the type that comes out of the wall), usually wired to a movie rental box. I used to try to do this with a portable dvd player. The hotels tend to buy special purpose built industrial tubes for thier rooms presumably to cut the cost.

well, if it makes any difference, I'm going to be staying at the crowne plaza in atlanta.
anyone know what kinda tv's they have in their rooms....
