This is the first time I've ever seen the T22(performance) at this price, and they have 39 available right now. This is a smoking hot deal, IMHO. link

im not an expert on laptops or anything but IMHO i think instead of this people might wanna look at the dell inspiron 8100 with a 15" 20 GB P3-833M (which i believe is better than this 1 GHZ?) umm 16 geforceGo... for like 1200.

good deal tho if thats what your looking for

There are a lot of things you have to consider when buying a laptop. This T22 only weighs 4.99lbs (travel weight), while Insprion 8100 weighs like 8 lbs. The T22 includes a 3-yr warranty including parts and labor, I wonder how much the 8100 will cost if you throw in a 3-yr warranty. I'll go with IBM anyday with this price:)

True the Dell Inspiron 8100 is the laptop to own but it's in the "desktop replacement" class which the IBM T series doesn't compete in. That would be the IBM A series, if I had to choose between the two I'd go for the Dell.

If I had to choose between this IBM and a comparable Dell, I'd go IBM.

This is indeed a very good deal for a lightweight, power packed, world renowned laptop! But I still think the previous T series laptops for $1309 was a sweeter deal but I think it was a slower CPU, etc.

The previous T21(mainstream) only has a 20G hard drive and the resolution is only 1024X768. This one(performance) not only has a faster CPU, but also has a huge 32G 5400rpm hard drive, and don't forget the amazing SXGA+(1400X1050) LCD display. This is an overall superior machince, even though it costs a little more.

The larger hard drive, faster CPU and brilliant display are definitely worth it on this machine.

Thanks for mentioning those points.
