IBM T22 and PS/2 Mouse

I have an IBM T22 PIII/700 thinkpad. When I first got the machine I was using a Y adaptor for Mouse/Keybaord with 2 port KVM switch so I could use my desktop monitor/KB/Mouse. This worked fine for several monthe then the mouse/KB didn't work after big storm one day. The tech support guy @ IBM told me to send in my laptop so they could fromat my HD and start over. I knew this was not the correct path to take. I removed my HD and sent the machine in. I think I have a bad port or a bad sys board. Any ideas. I have updated BIOS & Mouse drivers, did not fix problem. I sent machine into IBM for repair. When I got it back the KB would work but the mouse wouldn't work on the T22's PS/2 port.

If you want to just work around it, just get a PS/2 to USB adapter. Mine looks like a Y-adapter having an input for a P/S2 keyboard and mouse. Picked it up for $15 CDN.

Did you make sure it wasn't your Y-adapter that was defective?
