IBM Soft Touch Clicky Keyboard?

I currently have an IBM model M "clicky" keyboard. While I love the feel of it, the noise is quite anoying. I heard IBM made a Soft Touch version of the keyboard which was supposed to dampen the sound.

I was wondering if anyone has actually used it, and does it feel the same as a regular model m keyboard sans the sound?

I dislike loud keybords, but I don't like keys that feel stiff. So, I found that using a cheap Micro Innovations keyboard does what I need and fits the criteria for what I want in a keyboard.

yay for no windows key

Hey, I like the windows key. Windows + L ftw for pesky suitemates.

Ctrl-Alt-Del + K does the same. 😛

No it doesn't.

Yes it does if you have that stupid fast user switching turned off.

That's assuming Windows + L does lock, not logoff.

And if it's logoff, then Ctrl-Alt-Del + L does the same. 😛

Yay for model M keyboards! I love those things. I've been thinking of getting one of the reproductions of them, or one off of eBay, but I know my wife would kill me if she had to listen to me type on that all night.

Yea I got mine off of ebay, was only $14 and it was brand new in box never once defiled.

The noise is quite anoying which is why I wanted to know about the Soft Touch version...
