hello everyone. i am concerned about my rma status. i checked my package via the usps website and it arrived at the destination yesterday. for some reason when i check ibm (now hitachi) it says this:

Check RMA status

Status check inputs > Not received and not shipped

RMA number: 61740921

The defective hard disk drive has not been received and the replacement hard disk drive has not been shipped yet. If you have already shipped your defective hard disk drive, please contact your carrier to obtain the shipment tracking delivery information or Proof of Delivery (POD). If you need further assistance contact the technical support center and provide your shipping information.

RMA issued on February 12, 2003

It just arrived yesterday and you expect IBM to have it updated in the system as recieved already?

Relax. I RMA'd a IBM HD to Hitachi about a month ago, and it took until last friday before I got an email from them saying they got the drive and all was good. I got the replacement yesterday.

The good news is, I RMA'd a 40GB 60gxp, and the replacement is a 60GB 180GXP

Hey if any company should have vast experience with RMA'ing a Hard Drive it's IBM:)

i sent IBM 2 diff hard drives in the last year or so,
they both took almost a month to return,
both returned h/d work beter than the originals!
