I got this deal a couple weeks ago. The camera has mixed results. I use ti at work on a machien very similar to my one at home. With good Flouro lighting at work, it operates acceptably for the price. At home with energy saving bulbs (albeit good illumination), the thing isn't even worth 20 bucks. Could be machines, but I've tried it on 3 different machines outside of work with bad results all around (very low frame rate and you really notice the CMOS sensor on light changes and low light). It's a great deal, if you would be willing to eat it if you get bad results, assuming you can get it to work good for you, Don't necessarily assume the thing will work right out of the box or in your bedroom. I didn't think they were doing this deal anymore ? They were marked back at 39.99 last week and I didn't see them in the ad. One last tip: In order to get this thing working with netmeeting, you have to install the version on the install CD. This was actually a software DOWNGRADE I think on my work machine, but it allowed netmeeting to see the camera.

This is a horrible, and I mean horrible, webcam. The resolution is disgusting, it makes you want to look away from the screen. I dont know if I would pay even $5 for it. The Kodak one from another thread is a lot better than this for only $25.

I concur. This webcam is POS. I've had problems recognizing it from day one. Not worth the money.

Please believe me...this camera isn't quite as good as those old Connetix parallel port golfball cameras. The framerate in NetMeeting is, by far, the worst I've ever seen...and I've tested a LOT of cameras with NetMeeting. The picture quality isn't very good, either.

If it were free, it would be a luke-warm deal.

Pic from camera

I think this is what you can expect from a under ten dollar pc camera. I will be selling this with a old computer. Your right the pictures are not very good. I thought if IBM put their name on it it sure would be better than this! I posted above before trying it out! Software is very easy to use but Pics are very poor at best. There are better deals out there than this. Those who are posting here as to the pic quality obviously bought one too! I may return this to Best Buy as it really isn't that good! ACK!

This is taken with monitor light only, with a light on in back of me!
