I have an old Netfinity 3000 system that I'm trying to load Win2K server on. No matter if I try to boot from CD or the floppies, it states that it cannot find the CD-ROM. But if I throw in an NT 4.0 CD, it boots just fine. I tried researching on IBM's website, but it's such a convaluted mess I came up with not much. I did find a BIOS update and installed it, but that didn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

Does that machine have RAID embedded on the motherboard? Is the CD SCSI and attached to the RAID. W2K may not have the correct driver for the old ServeRAID controller on the MB. Does W2k give you the option to 'specify mass storage devices' (like NT did?). If so you may need to give it the ServeRAID DD for NF3000 (Navajo). Im trying to recall exactly which machine that was. PM me with a phone number if you would like some help.

Thanks but I found out what the deal was. The CD-ROM is IDE by the way. It can't read burned discs over 8x. I threw on a different IDE CD-ROM and now I'm cookin. Trouble now is, the setup didn't recognize the Adaptec card I have in there so it said there was no hard drives.
