Pepsi > Coke

Pepsi owns Aquafina among other beverage brands.

Pepsi is evil, they planned to poison the people of india! Luckily for the indians coke was there to offer a tasty non lethal alternative :) Mmm refreshing!

Also what a nice xmas advert they have. Pepsi dont have an answer to that.

MS has a ridiculously high profit margin, so they actually do make a bit more money than IBM despite having just over half the revenue of IBM.

When you only have to print CD's and have the public beta test for you, it doesn't cost too much.

Revenue != profit!

Explain, i dont know buisness.

Gross vs. Net

Basically, Revenue means how much money the company gets.

Profit is how much money the company is left over with after they get done paying bills and employees, etc etc.

For instance: If I managed to sell 1,000,000 boxes of stuff at $100/box, I'd have made $100,000,000 dollars in revenue. If it cost me $99.99/box, I'd have only made $10,000 in profit.

Figured I'd explain it further :p

Interesting. I never found a list that lists them in order of profits but i found a market capitalization list which has cola ahead of pepsi. I think i can sleep ok tonight now seeing that :p

Market cap don't have a lot of meaning by itself, it is just the total worth of its stock. Stock is based on PERCEIVED values. Lots of Dot Com companies in the early 2000s had huge market caps, but they all went bust.

When judging the size of a company, you have to consider it's revenue, headcount, and then its market cap.

also, market cap is based off outstanding stock. people were very confused when that report came out that nintendo's market cap was higher than sonys'

Pepsi...no clue. Although I'd rather drink pepsi than coke anyday. I just don't drink cola though. Dr Pepper man here

IBM also gets alot of revenue from support contracts (hardware AND software)

IBM has been the largest computing company on the planet for over 50 years IIRC.

The really funny thing is the fact that none of those is even in the top 10 largest oil companies in the world last I checked, deffinitely not the top 5 anyways.
