you have to ship it with a certain padding, if not it could void the warranty. that is bullcrap man.

i dont know where i can find the stupid padding, or a anti-static bag. i dont have one lying around. i used them all when i sold things in the for sale trade forum.

can anyone tell me where i might be able to pick up some anti-static baggies and the padding to send the ibm hdd back?

the padding has to be those foam egg looking things.

it looks like you can put eggs on them. i hope you know what im getting at.

thanks.

Western Digital is a breeze if you use their advance RMA program. They ship you the new drive, throw the old drive in the box and ship it back.
Makes life so easy. :)

Do you have a local computer shop? They're likely knee-deep in anti-static bags and peanuts.

where'd you get the padding and what not to ship it?

or did you just throw it in a anti static bag and bubble padding?

although actually I thought they wanted firm foam padding...that's what I used....and the aforementioned bag.

I got a box with my first RMA drive and I ship in that knowing I will get another one.
