IBM HD is slow on Abit K7T-RAID

My hard drive is IBM 30G 75GXP. I install ATA 100 first then moved the cable from IDE-1 (ATA66) to IDE-3. The drive performed much much slower. Now I moved back the cable to IDE-1. Even at IDE-1 the drive is slow: On my Compaq PC with WD 5,400RPM, copy a 140M file takes 17 sec. The IBM on K7T-raid takes 22 sec. Any advice? Thanks.
 
I believe that IBM drives have timing problems with the HPT370 Raid Controller. If you search the net you might find a link. Anyone ??
