I've been running an IBM 60 GXP for about 3 months, and it's ran like a dream... until this week
(
a few nights ago, i booted up the system and found O/S corruption, i quickly moved the drive over to my duron box and managed to get my more important data back up (whew!), when i put the drive back into my athlon box, i tried to run scandisk, and the system just froze, the drive won't complete a format, much less install an o/s... the IDE controller on my motherboard isnt detecting the drive anymore, my onboard RAID controller will see it, but it's still dead basically... The drive just makes an on/off whirring noise...
basically what i want to know, does anyone here have experience RMA's stuff to IBM, because i honestly dont want another drive from them, i've had a WD drive for 3 years now in my other system, and its just been an awesome drive, if they're going to give me grief over it i'll just say screw IBM and buy a WD drive....
