1. They have the IBM G72 17-inch Monitor for $79.99.
2. Use the $5 off $50 coupon link to get it down to $74.99.
3. $1 shipping on everything site wide.

Linkage for the Lazy
Doesnt appear to be flat screen though.

The best 17 monitor there would probably be the Nec, nice high res with decent refresh rate and it also appears to be a flatscreen crt. but costs $106.xx :(

Has anyone ordered one of these?
If so did you get the buck shipping??

There seems to be some fine print re exceptions for heavy items for $1 shipping.

I don't mean to thread crap but I'm not sure this is a good deal even for the shipped price. This is an old monitor. IBM started making the G72 series in 1997. They have since manufactured the G74 (1998), G76 (1999) and G78 (current). So this monitor is probably about five years old. According to the IBM specs max resolution is 1024x768 @ 85Hz. Could not find the dot pitch on the IBM spec sheet but according to overstock it's .28. That being said, I like IBM CRTs. I have the P76 and G78 at home and the G96 and E74 at work.

Will this work for just a quick system? Obviously it's not too good for die-hard gamers....but for all other practical purposes???

You can probably find a new 17" monitor deal here or at FW for the same or less. You can also check out merkortech.com for used monitors. YMMV on the screen quality of the G72 monitor so you may be taking a chance even for general use. However, you do have a 90 day waranty from the distributor according to overstock.com so it looks like you can return it if you have a problem.
