While setting up a couple IBM rouckmounts yesterday, and I was checking out the fans in them. The fans in there were "Brushless". Anyone know what kind of fans these are? I'ld like to find out the ratings for these fans...
All dc "muffin"/"case" fans are brushless, meaning they use solid state circuitry to change the magnetic field needed to turn the fan, rather than mechanical motors that use brushes against the center shaft to change the magnetic field.
It would be more helpful if you could describe any type of symbol or trademark on them...
That's the thing. They only say brushless, where the brand name usually is. The normal servers don't use the same fans, it's their rackmount servers that have these things in them.
