ibm education discounts?

Hi:

Does anyone know if ibm offers educational discounts if you purchase from an academic institution? I would like to buy the ibm t41p (almost the perfect machine except for its lack of a writable dvd and firewire), but the price is just way too high for me. With tax and everything I could afford something in range of $2800.

I have been searching for a laptop to be purchased for our school and they do offer academic discounts, but not on everything and the discount is not much. Perhaps 5% or so. If you want to give me the model number and details re what you want I can see what the price would be.

The models I am specifically interested in are the t41p (model #2373GEU, current web price is $3104.10) and the r50p. For some reason the r50p is no longer listed on the website so I don't have the specific model #. But it is the one that I believe was listed at ~$3400 (containing 1600X1200 resolution, a/b/g Wi-Fi, DVD-R and the 128 MB graphics card).
